Meet Chris

At Chris Bird Edits, I’m your go-to editor, handling everything from line editing to proofreading with precision and passion. With a decade of self-employment in word processing and desktop publishing, along with editing certifications from Edit Republic and membership in the Editorial Freelancers Association, I bring expertise and dedication to every project. I easily switch between UK and US English, and with dual citizenship in Canada and the United States I am ready to give your words wings!

My Services (in brief)

  • Line Editing

    LINE EDITING is sometimes the second edit, if you have also opted for developmental editing. A line edit is similar to a copy edit, although it’s more in-depth and focuses on writing style.

  • Copyediting

    COPYEDITING occurs after you have fully completed the story itself with lots of self-editing. You may also have had a line edit completed, but remember to ask abour our line and copyediting package!

  • Manuscript Evaluation

    We’ll read your manuscript and prepare a report on pacing, character development, story development, stucture, gaps and much more. Please note, this is not a word-by-word edit.
